I run MDHosting Ltd, a UK company providing web hosting, email and IT services to small businesses. Day to day that means cPanel servers, mail deliverability, DNS, Microsoft 365, monitoring and backups — and a lot of making sure nothing surprises anyone.
I'm happiest working on the infrastructure itself: Linux, Docker, observability with Prometheus, Loki and Grafana, and automating the repetitive parts so the important parts get proper attention.
Three habits

Measure first
Real data before any change: what would it affect, and who would notice?
Always a way back
Backups before edits, reversible changes, and a rollback written down before it's needed.
Write it down
Everything documented, versioned and checked automatically, so the next person isn't guessing.
